However, you can also get potatoes from your harvest from a garden. One of them is using a grow bag that is popular among many people right now.

How to Grow Bag Potatoes
This method is interesting because no large land is needed, potatoes can be cultivated in a polybag. Here are how to grow bag potatoes easily from your garden.
1. Selection of the seedlings
This is an important stage in growing potatoes. Please make sure that the seedlings you use are intact, not deformed. In addition, it would be even better if it already has 3-5 shoots with a height of up to 2 cm or at least has been stored for 4 months. It will make the potatoes easier to grow.
2. Polybag Selection
The right grow bag for planting potatoes is at least 50 cm x 80 cm. Besides that, it should adjust to the number of plants you want to cultivate.
After that, don’t forget to perforate 3-4 holes in the polybag for a good drainage system. It will ensure the water has a good circulation, and the air can flow properly too.
3. Growing media
In the cultivation of potatoes, use a planting medium in the form of a mixture of humus soil with compost. It is the recommended media so far because can make the plant grow healthily.
Then don’t forget to follow the right steps to plant these potatoes with a grow bag. Below are those easy and simple ways:
- Insert the planting medium in the form of humus soil and compost to a height of 20 cm-30 cm to meet the polybag.
- Plant potato seedlings into the planting medium to a depth of 7 cm with the position of the shoots facing up.
- Use at least 3 to 4 potato seeds in 1 bag.
- The seeds in polybags are ready for cultivation.
Potato Treatment
After planting potatoes, do not forget to take care of them. It is especially if you do not want the seedlings to die just like that. After 10 days since planting, usually the seeds have shown growth, but can still be left in polybags.
After 1 month, the tubers will grow larger. To avoid direct sunlight, add planting media to cover the bulbs. The potato tubers exposed to excess sunlight will turn greenish and can be poisonous.
Watering the seedlings every day or when the planting medium in the polybag looks like it is starting to dry is recommended. In addition, fertilizing by applying liquid and solid fertilizers is also essential.
You may choose liquid fertilizers with a balanced composition of N and P. As for solid fertilizers, use TSP and urea fertilizers with a ratio of 1: 1 with a dose of 16gr / polybag.
Do not forget to water it after being given solid fertilizer so that the fertilizer quickly dissolves and is absorbed by plants. That is how to grow bag potatoes and the easy methods to do.
